Killers

It seems like there are 2 versions of the script. One turned into a romantic comedy with Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher while the other turned to be a more action filled movie with Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise. So guess which one I decided to watch??

The one with the Katherine of course! I miss her so much in Grey's Anatomy. So this is where I can get my Katherine dosage... KILLERS.. The movie isnt too bad. Really.. The storyline could have been improved somehow as the movie got confusing at some parts. Halfway through the movie, I didnt realise that the couple were already married for 3 years, when I thought that they were taking things "slow"... Getting married to a spy or assassin may seem exciting I guess, but Ashton's character was abit all over the place because you dont really know if he actually managed to successful retire from the job... I also kinda expected him to hide his guns in a super secret compartment somewhere hidden in the house.. Not in a normal duffel bag that could easily be found by the wife.. Seriously?? Cmon scriptwriter! You could do better than that!!

It was weird seeing Katherine in a character where she is a little ditzy.. But somehow, I knew her natural confidence would overtake the character.. I guess it wasnt one of the best character that she has played.. Maybe I can separate her Izzy character.. But she was excellent in The Ugly Truth..

So anyway, I did enjoy watching the movie. Go watch, Killers if you want a simple romantic comedy.. It was the exact movie that I needed to watch.. :)

Movies in 3D..

The past month has been exhilarating and exhausting...Well of course it is no surprise to you that I have already watched Alice in Wonderland in 3D. I did however go with my residents, who were more than eager at the cheaper tickets of the movie.

I would have to say that I did enjoy myself. The movie was pretty good and the cast was nothing short than brilliant. The direction and storyline were as always an expectation of Tim Burton. However, I have to admit that if I do have kids, I wouldn’t want them to go and watch such a movie because the storyline is so NOT a fairytale. Well, it wasn’t something I would expect Disney to be part of. But of course, Im not sure what they were thinking signing on to the storyline. Overall, I guess it was a good movie. I found it annoying that the White Queen, played by Anna Hathaway, had her hands in the air and waltzing around. I guess it is just her character but I felt like smacking her 3D character right on her face. LOL… Silly?? I know..

Because of some of my residents making fun of me, having not watched Avatar, I caved and went to watch the movie by myself. It was fun in the cinema with empty seats on my left and right. A space for my bag and another space to put my legs up. That’s the way to watch a movie, seriously.. Especially at the price that movies cost over here…

Anyway, I think the concept of Avatar is so wayyyyy into the future. Seriously, who comes up with this man?? It super uber cool and the 3D affects just takes it to a whole new level of movie watching. Creating 3D is not at all an easy task.. It is a fun experience but not easy.. Believe me, I have first hand experience. Hehehehe..

He's Just Not That Into You...

So Im assuming you've watched the movie.. You probably watched it with a group of your girlfriends or perhaps with your boyfriend/fiance.. You could have possibly watched it alone.. I cant seem to remember whom I went with, but I remembered having a good time watching it...

The movie is totally awesome!! I have to say it kinda give me a new perspective in knowing what guys think.. You kinda know.. You kinda figured it out but.. You dont really talk about it with your girlfriends.. And here is a movie, that tells you what you already know.. How to know that he's actually not into you..

So the main rule is: If he wants to date you, then he will ask you out..
Right, my question would be.. How long do you have to wait for the guy to ask you out? 3 days? a week?

HE'S NOT THAT INTO YOU...

So here's the thing.. I dont think that its fair that the ball is in the guy's court.. I thought that we're living in the modern age, but I guess some things are still old school.. Girls wait for guys to ask them out.. Wait for their phone calls or perhaps a text message... I know.. Cause I do it often enough.. before realising... What the F$%K!~

Who would have thought that it's still the same now as it is 20 years ago?? Some guys have progressed into accepting that girls are now more independent and are much more outgoing. But unfortunately, most guys aren't like that. Most still feel threaten by how much more successful the girl is than the guy.. Or perhaps that the girl has a higher education level than he does..

So i guess, all i have to say is... If he doesnt call you or makes the first moves or tries to get to know you more, he's just not into you.. It's not you.. It's him.. Seriously.. You can move on knowing that you didnt waste your time waiting for him..

What's wrong with watching Movies by yourself?

I went to watch Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen on Opening Night, 24th June 2009.
I have asked quite a number of my friends to join me for a movie night but unfortunately everyone seems to be too busy and cant be bothered with watching Transformers on a weekday night.

It may seem that there goes my plans to watch Transformers on Opening Night but Nooo.. It suddenly came to... Why not watch it myself? No harm in doing that.. Right?!~
The friends whom i asked earlier to join me, eventually came back asking.. "So did you manage to get anyone else to go with you?" And my answer would be "No. But i will still be going, by myself."

Then comes this whole dialogue about going to the movies.. "By yourself? Are you crazy??"
Huh?! Crazy about what?? Transformers or going to watch a movie by myself?? Erm.. Then it dawned on me that they have never done that before and to them, watching a movie by yourself just seems.. Lonely and pathetic.. Geesh!!

Really?? Does it seem sad and pathetic? Which part?? The part where you have passion for something you really really like or love.. That by being different and putting yourself out there.. Seems sad and pathetic? Why is it that people think that if someone goes to a movie by themselves, they are actually sad and pathetic? Its not like you can talk at the movies.. Its not like you can have a full length conversation with your other half while watching a movie in the cinema.. Its also the fact that not everyone likes the same type of movies you like.. So what then? Are you going to put your life on hold just because you cant find someone to share the experience with??

When i ask these same questions back to my "friends" who called me crazy, they are totally stunned and speechless. Which made me realise, maybe these ARE the people who cant do things by themselves because they ARE afraid, scared, sad and pathetic.. Not being able to do something unless there is someone or anyone for that matter, who can be there for them.. and guide them.. and.. blah blah blah..

Call me crazy.. But i think its time to GROW UP!!~

On a lighter note, i think Transformers 2 rocks!! I thought i have seen it all.. The action.. the stunts.. the CGI images.. But Michael Bay just keeps coming back with more unbelievable ideas.. Oh god.. I can only dream of meeting him one day and picking his brain.. If you havent seen it, go watch it.. I highly recommend it!!

PS: There happened to be quite a number of people who went to watch T2 by themselves.. LOL.. If only we get time to meet and get to know each other.. LMAO..

Sex and the City

I'm assuming that all you girls out there have gone to watch Sex and the City, the movie. It's one of those movies where you HAVE, HAVE, HAVE to go with ya GIRLFRIENDS!!~

I think that the movie totally rocks!! It has completed the series.. Questions about what happened to them after the TV series has ended.. Did Carrie & Mr Big stayed together for good?? Did Charlotte finally have the babies she always wanted?? What happened to Miranda and Steve?? Of course, did Samantha finally grew out of the whole ?? Hhhmmmm....

I guess one of the things i get from the movie is that you don't need a man to be successful... But looking at Miranda and Charlotte, i guess if you are in a relationship, then to be able to get through it, you gotta really work at it... Know what i mean??!

If you read my previous few entries, I am most likely to be Charlotte, which I find it abit amusing... I just do... Though, i wish I have a life like Charlotte right now.. Absolutely fantastic girlfriends, doting husband and a good family... Aaawwww.... But hey, Charlotte's like 40 i think?? Not sure about their ages... Its getting me confuse just thinking about it... Hehehe..

Anyway, go and watch the movie, if you havent!! It's pretty full-on and totally GIRLPOWER!!~ And don't bother bringing your boyfriends or husbands or partners... Whatever.. Go with ya girlfriends~~

Cinta

Monash University together with Centre for Malaysian Studies and probably the High Commission of Malaysia organised the Malaysian Film Screening, held at Monash University, Caulfield Campus.

Throughout the year, five Malay movies are screened for free at Link Theatre, Building S, Caulfield Campus, Monash University. Everyone, whose anyone is invited to come. Having watched the second movie, Cinta, I assumed that the Malay movies chosen because they were good and of high standards, or at least I hope they are. And yes, I think im falling in love with the Cinta movie.

If i am going to be a director or producer of a movie, I would have taken Cinta's concept of linking everyone with each other and how the people next to you are also facing the same problems as you are.. So don't think that you are alone in this world.. Cause you're not!

I cant remember how many times i cried during the movie because it was really, really touching. I cant wait to go back Singapore or Malaysia to get the original DVD.. Maybe get Fahmi or Rauds to get it for me... So anyway, my fav ultimate scene was near the ending when Azlan proposed to Azura with Hazrul Nizam's 'Kaulah Segalanya' playing at the background. Ok.. Im a sucker for love scenes.. if you havent already know that!~

I recommend those who LOVE romantic movies go watch Cinta. They have English subtitles so you dont miss out on what they are saying.. Besides, i think half the movie is like in English.. Oh Cinta... Cant wait to watch it again!~

National Treasure & Golden Compass - BORRIINNGG!!~

I went on a movie marathon recently with some of the ex-SEF ressies.. The two damn irritating ppls, J1 & J2. Yes, that is their names that i have given them & that they shall be called.

The first movie that we paid for was the National Treasure: Book of Secrets. I thought the movie was ok. Not pretty ok, not fantastic but ok. It's the kind of movie i wish i had downloaded instead of going to watch it on the big screen.

The plot was pretty interesting (Me being a History fan) as there is a secret book owned by the US President, passed down by past presidents from generations before. The secret book that holds the truth about the past, now and future of the world. I would love to get my hands on that book. (im still wondering if such a book exist and if it does, im not surprise) Anyway, the story goes on saying about some hidden treasure, blah blah blah.. And then i started realising what the heck?!

So this guy, Nicolas Cage goes on to find this massive treasure and when they did.. It doesnt seems that impressive. Looks like a bunch of gold and all.. Where is the history in that? More like a treasure hunt than a history hunt. Also, who wouldnt expect that somehow Nicolas Cage gets out of the "almost-got-him-dead" situation?! I mean, they should make it more exciting than just coming out to the end of the tunnel.

Whatever... Seriously waste of my $12.50.

The next movie that we watch, after the National Treasure was the Golden Compass.

OH MY GOD!!!! That's all that i can say... SO DAMN BLOODY BORING... Halfway through i was asking myself: "Why on earth am i still sitting in this bloody theatre?" It so freaking predictable & SOOOoooo NOT life-threatening.. Seriously? A bunch of kids have gone missing.. That's it?! What happen to the end-of-the-world or going thru secret closets?! Geesh.. This is definetly not a movie worth watching on the big screen, on DVD or even on TV. Just switch it off & go to sleep. The kids ends up safe. Nothing goes wrong.. The world is just the way it was...

BOO HOOO!!~ Love the Polar Bear though...

Hairspray

Hairspray is one of those movies you have to watch if you want to feel happy & if you need to know that everything is right in the world.. Because guess what?! IT'S NOT!!~

I really love the movie. So does Mel & Alia who went with me to watch the movie @ Chaddie. It's been awhile since I last went out with Mel. Hehe..

The only thing i don't like about the movie was that when the lead actor, Lindt falls in love with the lead actress. I don't know but i dont think that is realistic. Well the way he fell in love is abit too much!

Other than that, i reckon you guys should go and watch it!!~

Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer

When i first saw the trailer for Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer, i thought it was HORRIBLE!! I couldnt see what the excitment was all about. It's as though they never grew up or changed but the after effects were pretty good. So when Leong suggested to go watch Fantastic Four, i wasnt really that keen on it but because i was SOOOO bored, i just said yeah..

I feel that the movie didnt have much action or content. It was all about the silver surfer who can do things that they cant. But did they forget Superman?! I guess the movie isn't THAT BAD!! Though, make no mistake, it is still BAD. There wasnt much emotions or connection that i can identify with the movie. I don't know. Hmmm.. A major plus was that the villain from the previous movie came back to live.. He's so cute!! Hehehe..

Should you watch the Fantastic Four? No. Why? Not really worth your money. Either get it off a friend who will be buying the DVD or has bought the pirated version. In any case, you're not missing out!!..

Silver Surfer was done using animation. There wasnt any stand-in person to act as him.

Shrek 3

SHREEEEKKKKEEEEYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! *can you imagine me screaming this @ your ear?!!* hehe..

Shrek 3 wasnt as funny or as original as the very first Shrek movie. Well, which series of movies is as original as the first?! Hmmm.. I was actually looking forward to see Cinderella, Snow White & Sleeping Beauty more than seeing Shrek. I love the princesses.

The movie is, once again, set in Far Far Away. This time, Shrek is becoming King. It's funny how these guys in Dreamworks makes use of the fairy tale stories. I love the fairy tales, as you can probably already tell. Without spoiling the story of the movie, what i can tell you is that, Justin Timberlake SOOOO do not deserve to be the voiceover. He has no ability to make the character alive. I can barely hear what Arti was talking the entire time. I reckon that he got the job because of Cameron Diaz, but then, it may not be true. WHATEVER!!

One of my most favourite bit is where Snow White came out whistling with all the birds & animals in the forest. Then, all of a sudden, the soundtrack changes and she becomes this rugged girl and the animals starts attacking the enemy. It's so FUNNY & AWESOME!!~

I would highly recommend you to watch the movie if you're a Shreky fan!! If not, the movie is a pretty good one if you just a laugh. Seriously.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE!!!!!

It's been a very long and busy week for me.. Life in Berwick is just going nuts.. I think somebody needs to stop me.. Hehe.. Finally managed to slow things down on Friday afternoon, as always NoN slows down during weekends. Hehe.. Got RA Training on Saturday. And BBQ on Sunday. Hmm..

Though i did have time to go watch a movie on Saturday Night. TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE!! TOTALLY ROCKS!! Love every bit of it.. The 3D animation, effects, colour scheme. I think after learning how to 3D, im more technical and understand how damn bloody difficult it is to animate that. Even though the movie was short, it was very entertaining. You've got your action, suspense and comedy. All in one.

I would highly encourage everyone to go watch TMNT!! The animators got it right!! You'll love everything about the movie if you're a TMNT fan!! Go watch it!! Seriously!! It's worth your $$$...

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE!!.. TURTLE POWER!!~

Ghost Rider

Ive heard that Ghost Rider got bad reviews, such as Worst Movie of the Year for 2006. I didn't want to be skeptical when my Berwick frens invited me to watch the movie with them. I went anyway, cause I wanted to just relax and have fun before going home.

VG was selling the tix for $9.50 for members as they are celebrating their 2nd Birthday, which was cool with us!! Hahaha.. The movie was pretty good in the beginning.. Your typical hero-action type movie. Then, it kinda dragged.. And sometime in the movie, i was getting bored and tired. I kept yawning non-stop and started to irritate my frens while in a movie. Im so sorry guys!! Anyway, the scene suddenly turned to where Nicolas Cage was like half-naked, more like top-naked.. THAT woke me up!! I was in awe at how fit he was. Isnt he like old?! 50 plus, maybe??! He looks soooo hot!! He got like 6-pack!! I swear!!!

Haha.. So that Ghost Rider for you.. Didnt really remember much abt the rest of the film. The movie isnt told in a good story. Instead, where parts that they can manipulate the scenes to 3D or animation, they do.. And it just shows the lack of a storyline.

Music & Lyrics

Ive always known that this movie was going to be a bit hit. Well, firstly cause of Drew Barrymore. And secondly, i dont know.. I saw the chemistry between Drew and Hugh on the movie poster.. You can just see it.. It's amazing how they just work together and poof.. Chemistry..

Anyway, the movie started off pretty funny. I cant believe Hugh Grant can make all those "POP" movements. Seriously man, he is such a good actor. And the hair!!! It was SOOO 80's.. *LOL* Drew and Hugh, both have amazing voices.. Its not that fantastic.. But still, arent they already talented enough?! The movie goes one about Drew being able to write poems and hence lyrics to the music Hugh composes. Thus the name Music & Lyrics.

I would recommend people on first dates or couples who wants to remember how they fall in love.. This would be a perfect movie. It's pretty short yet fun, witty and full of romantic moments. I cant wait for the DVD to come out!!~

Babel

Managed to catch Babel just now before flying off to Jakarta later today. Reached home at 2.30am and my flight is at 7.30am. Cool huh?! Haha..

I thought the movie was going to be another blockbuster type, especially with Brad Pitt starring in it. I guess he is trying to do a different role. He only appeared in like 1/4 of the movie. Screaming his head off and being frustrated most of the time.

Babel's directing was pretty good. It did potray the entire story extremely well. Though, you have to sit down and watch the entire movie to be able to understand why it jumps from one location to another. All the main people in each scene are linked in a way. It all comes down to the shooting of an American in Afghanistan. Was it Afghanistan? I cant even remember. *LOL* Im too tired. Pardon my slurrish "behaviour".

The movie is more suitable for people who appreciate the art of directing and who likes to watch an artistic movie. It's not another blockbuster. Definetly not a comedy. If you have nothing else to watch, then probably Babel. Though two thumbs up for its directing and script writing.

Blood Diamond

I didn't really know much about the movie before I went to watch it. That's how ive been these few months.. Just going to watch a movie @ the movies cause Im just a movie fanatic!! Hehe.. I expected the movie to be really good with loads of action, drama and heart wrenching scenes.

Though, I didnt expect to be taught how the rebels psycho the minds of the young to kill and destroy innocent people.

I didnt want to see women and children being executed as if it was the "in" thing to do.

I can never forget the eyes of a son who have forgotten his father.

Even though it was just another movie, it could easily be what has been going on for the past 50 years in Africa. For me, Blood Diamond is another eye-opener of what it is like in Africa. I just cant seem to grasp that some people in this world have to live in such a horrendous environment. It just breaks my heart..

Go watch the movie. It's good if you appreciate such genre of movies. Be sure to have the time though cause it's a pretty lengthy movie!!

PS: Leornado DiCaprio is still unbelievably as cute as ever!! Thanks Ain for accompanying me!!~

The Holiday

I went to the city today to get the tix for the Russell Peters show tomorrow night. Since I was @ the Box Office, I got my P!nk tix too. Yes.. Finally managed to snag tix to see Pink Live in Concert. Hehe.. Anyway, I head down to Melbourne Central to watch a movie and buy some books in Borders. After contemplating on alot of good books, I decided to buy just three. Hehe. Yeah, I know.. 3 is quite alot actually. Hmm.. But it only cost about $12 a book, so why not?!

Anywho, after msg-ing Ain in Singapore on which movie i should watch, I finally decided on The Holiday, starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law & Jack Black. I wasnt really sure if it was going to be a good movie. I wanted something worth my FREE movie ticket that I got for modelling for the IT faculty. Hehe.

Though seriously, the Holiday is a pretty good movie. It was my first time to go to a cinema alone and watch it without having any company. I thought i was going to be the only loner there but hey, guess what?! I wasnt!! So im not a loser after all!! Hahaha. The Holiday is a movie about 2 strangers who switched their homes, cars, lives, everything for 2 whole weeks. The only thing that they have in common is that they have both recently broke up with their boyfriends are in a pretty bad shape. They are miserable and depressed and just wanted a different scenery. Hence, the SWITCH. Cameron Diaz is always oh-so-gorgeous for someone who is already in her 30s. Jude Law just melts your heart when he falls in LOVE with Cameron Diaz's charater. You can just melt in your seat.. SERIOUSLY!! Jack Black is hilarious, as always. Though he did show his serious side abit in this one. Kate Winslet is of course, a great actress! One thing that got my heart pumping so quickly was to see my MOUSE, yes my MOUSE.. You know the one where all you guys hate using. But because you still want to use my laptop/computer you have to succumb to using my mouse. Yes.. it was in the movies!! It was sooooo cool. I nearly screamed my head off!! Haha..

So yeah, go watch The Holiday. It's a movie for those of you who believe love doesnt exist anymore. And for those who have never made a decision for yourself and especially those who always choose to make the "correct" decisions in life...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!~
