Sydney & Canberra 2007

This blog is due for an update! First of course would be about the recent road trip to Sydney & Canberra. It took us about 10hours to reach Sydney & another hour to find our way through the city to get to our accommodation.

Driving to Sydney..

We spend about 2 days in Sydney. We got on an OzTrails tour for Blue Mountains where we experienced one of the best tour guides EVER!! She filled us on legends and myths about Blue Mountains that I reckon that I'll never hear about with any other tour guides. She told the most beautiful and heartwarming stories. It was as if we never wanted her to stop talking!!~

The next day was Free & Easy. Most of us went to the Sydney Aquarium. Being the enthusiatic tourist that I am, i definetly wanted to go there!! Seriously, that was one of the best aquarium that I have ever been to. I highly recommend anyone who goes to Sydney to take some time to the Aquarium.

On the third evening, we headed down to Canberra! Originally, we didnt manage to get accomodation on the 3rd night at Sydney, so we decided to go to Canberra instead. It was a pretty good idea cause then, we get to go see the Parliament House as well!! Hehehe.. We drove for only 2 hours and voila.. Canberra!! After checking-in, all of us were pretty much hungry so we went to the main city centre for food. Only we got stop by the police for a random breath test. Thank god none of us were drinking yet.. Good old Canberra!! The random-police-breath-test was pretty much a first time for all of us!!~

Finally, the 8 hour drive back home. It was as if we never wanted to be nowhere else but Melbourne, Victoria. It was home to us all and home it shall be till.. I dont know when!!

It was the best road trip Ive been on (Well it is my first!).. I believe we bonded closer together and for some formed lifetime friends.. It has been an incredible journey. One which I hope that will remain with me till the end!!~

ROAD TRIIPPP!!~~~

As Im waiting for the time to slooowwlly past me by, Im trying my best not to get overly excited and forget some stuff to bring. The time is almost here for the road trip. The planning took a couple of months. The organising took some more. Getting people to come took FOREVER!! But hey, the day is finally here. We're leaving Berwick for Sydney in a matter of hours. It'll probably take us 10 hours to reach Sydney. Perhaps even 12 hours.

All in all, I just hope that there will be no rain and no wind. AND that everyone is safe and comes back happy.

Paintball

OH MY GOD!! I am in soooOoooOoo much pain.. Haha.. Well kinda lah.. Just came back from playing Paintball. It was like a 3 hour drive to Moama, then had to spend 2 hours running around the field. It was like exercise for 1 month for me. Hahaha.. I couldnt breathe properly with the mask on. Nor can i see and think properly. It is so frustrating. Though paintball is really FUN!!

The early morning ride to Moama was a very long and tiring journey. We headed off about 5.45am and reached the Paintball field at about 9.30am. We were half an hour late but the people there were nice enough to wait for us. The gear was pretty awful as it kinda smell funny, esp the mask and they were pretty strict with the paintball guns as well. Mel & I bought a few more paintballs to share between us. I was so excited though abit worried about get badly injured.

The day was very, very HOT!! Ive NEVER sweated that much in my entire life in AUSTRALIA!! hahaha.. I'd say most of us had major bruising while some just had bits and pieces here and there. I got shot in the lips, thigh, head, shoulder, arms and hands. It is ALOT of fun!! You guys should go try it!! Hehehe.. Though the long ride to and fro was 3 hours long.. Thanks to everyone who came out and joined me for Paintball!! 'Till the next MAJOR convoy outing, i shall see you soon!!~

Good Weekend: Philip Island

I spent my Saturday @ Philip Island. As a volunteer with Monash Sports, i had a free trip to Philip Island and manage the people who were going on the trip. We had a bad start because the people came late as they were confused regarding the meeting-up time and location. We did miss out on a few places on the itinerary but as long as we get to see the penguin.. Everything was good!! It's not like ive never been to Philip Island. Ive been there with my flatmates and Ita last year around about the same time, which was really awesome. I still remember getting lost on the island.. though u cant really get lost as you pretty much is surrounded by water. I made a few friends on the trip which was really good. Dina is from France and currently a student in Canada. She is on exchange for a semester with Monash Australia. She helped me to open up and view my life in a bigger perspective. Its amazing at how little time we spent, we managed to connect. One thing i'll remember is to not only look life from the places that ive lived in but to be able to venture out to the other part of the world.

My Sunday was spent waking up late, doing the website as my RA work, cleaning up after the BBQ and chatting with residents. Though it seemed that i didnt do much, i still felt that i did something worthwhile. I guess i should be starting on my assignment now, that's due on Wednesday!! Catch up with you guys later!!~

On other news: ROVE is back on Ten & Easter Break is coming up within days!!~

Jakarta Trip 2007

My absence of blogging is due to my recent trip to Jakarta, Indonesia. I went to visit my distant cousin and her family and of course, did alot of shopping. We went for 4 days and 3 nights, arriving back on Thursday night. It was great going on a REAL holiday, other than Singapore. We did too much shopping till our legs hurt the rest of the night.

The "we" would be my parents, my cousin, CT and my aunt. The 5 of us on an adventure to just shop till you drop. We had a little R&R as well, where we got a massauer (is that how to spell it?!) to massage us. It was really nice and also very, very painful. Hehe.. I managed to convince my Indonesian cousin to bring me to Plaza Indonesia so that I can watch a movie in my favourite cinema of all time!! Hehe.. More about the movie on a later date. Hehe.

Having to pack the last night, me & CT went crazy. We displayed ALL of the items that we had bought and totally filled up an entire queen bed. There is barely space to see the bed frame, let alone the mattress. Haha. I think we should have brought more money ah. Hehe. It's so cheap in Jakarta.. Too cheap.. Hahaha..
