Light up my day...

A super random thing happened to me today..

I was at work, doing my usual work duties when I got a random phone call to my direct work line.. I thought that it could be another student who managed to figure out my number and is too lazy to call the customer service number that is already available.

As I pick up the call, I realise that firstly, this is not an international student. As soon as I heard her voice, I couldnt believe it. It was my old friend from the Ancora program I was involved a couple of years ago.. Its been too long.. Hearing her voice alone made me lit up and a smile was plastered on me for the rest of the day..

Our conversation was not too long but it was an extremely pleasant one.. We have, of course, both graduated (FINALLY!) from our respective courses. She has a beautiful and kind soul.. I was quite surprised when I first got to know her of how mature she is at such a young age.. The things you learn while growing up, especially when you had to grow up so fast.. like she did.. I miss our monthly catch-ups and meet ups during our Ancora program. I know for sure she will be great at everything she does...

Karaoke session...

It's been awhile since we karaoke our way through the night...

I was actually tired & lazy to sing but cause Liyana was around & she was DYING to karaoke in Melbourne, I agreed to Ruzi & Raudz pleads of going karaoke-ing.

We ended up at the KBOX on La Trobe Street @ about midnight, due to our de-tour @ Mackers. Hehe.. The songs continued flowing non-stop with me always adding song after song so that the rest can concentrate on singing. We danced to the Spice Girls & ooh-ed and aah-ed our way through the Backstreet Boys. The girls tried covering their ears while i crowed my way through Crawling with Linkin Park.

The best thing about the KBOX is that it has a HUGE range of Malay songs, which we all like.. My fav would have to be KRU & Taukfik Batisah.. Yes can you believe it they have Taufik's songs?! *lol*

We left the city @ about 4am. It has been a fantastic night though i was slightly afraid it might rain that morning... *grins*

Goodbye Nordina aka Dot

It has finally happened. Dot has left Australia for good. It's SO sad. I managed to send Dot off @ the airport, even after my hectic day. The drive was long and tiring but i had Fadhil to keep me company which wasnt too bad. And yes, i couldnt hold back the tears.. And with a blink of an eye, Dot disappears thru the doors and god knows when i will see her.

I hope she has a good life and may she get a good husband and have tonnes of kids. Hehe. We'll gonna miss you Dot!!!

International Student Orientation + Dot's Surprise Party

I guess this event should be documented because it is too unbelievable. Had International Orientation today and BISA was part of volunteers who are helping out. We are after all, the "important" volunteers. However, the worst thing could happen, happened. All of us woke up late. At the same time. I then hurriedly tried to get ready and drove myself to Berwick. Only to realise the hard work that i have been doing for the past weeks was left at home in my laptop harddrive instead of my IPOD. Geesh!!

Then, i wanted to print my speech, which was also left behind in my hurry. So as President, introducing my committee and myself, I had to "wing" it. I was just too nervous trying not to freak out in front of the new students. Haha. Well, I would say the day went pretty well. Thank GOD!!

Before i went back home, i managed to get a cake for Dot's surprise belated birthday party. She's spending the last night here with us @ SEF before she flies off back to Malaysia for good. Im gonna miss her SO much! Parties & life @ SEF would never be the same again!! Im pretty sure everyone else agrees with me..

Dot's Farewell Party

Dot had her farwell dinner just now @ La Grotta. The restaurant is located on the other side of Victoria, near Sydney Road. So we all had to car pool to go there. I didnt want to drive at first because my car has not been serviced and i was scared that it might breakdown like the other time. Besides, i was just too tired. After much negotating who goes on whose car, I decided that i should just drive to make things easier for everyone.

It took us about an hour to reach the restaurant as we had to go through Princess Hwy. The city was already packed with Friday night people, who are probably already half-drunk. We got to the restaurant the same time as Dot, so it was alright. We're not late!!! The restaurant is like La Porchetta, serving Italian pastas and pizzas. The only difference is that it is Halal. That means EVERYONE can eat it!! Isnt that cool?! Hehe. We spent about 4 hours in the rest. cause Fahmi & Sani arrived late so we had to wait for them to eat and enjoy themselves. I think the night was very good. Everyone seemed to be catching up and chilling out.

I didnt want to think what the dinner party was for. I've put it right at the back of my mind. It's one of those things that you wish was not happening anytime soon. Dot one of the dearest friend i've ever known. If you think I kecoh, wait till you meet Dot. She openly welcomes everyone and has been always the life of a party.

Last Dinner w Makin Menjadi Galz..

I had my last dinner (hopefully not the very last) with my Makin Menjadi friends... Girls that ive known since Sec 2. Ever since im back in Singapore, we've had our dinner every week. Just to catch up on latest gossip, etc. Hehe.. Gonna miss them in Melbourne!!~

Mama's Chalet

Attended Mama's chalet just now.. It was to celebrate her big bro's 26th Birthday.. And she asked her bro if can invite kita 4 (Makin Menjadi Girls) tak.. Hehe.. I think the ones who turned up was Mama's fren instead of Helmi's.

Anyway, I had to go the chalet later in the evening cause had to bake cookies for my cousin's chalet which is the very next day. In a few hours time actually. Finally get to meet Ita. That was like the second time I saw her since i came back. I dont think the short meet @ Eatzi counts!! Hehe. Adik Mama keep feeding us Satay and we gobbled it up within seconds cause we were VERY hungry. Someone thought up of playing a game called "Snatch", using Scrabble's letters. Its not that complicated but it takes awhile to get the hang of it.

Thanks for inviting us to the Chalet Mama!! Wouldnt miss it for the world!!~

Meeting Xin..

Met up with one of my old time Poly friends, Xin.. Xin was one of my first few friends that I made with back in the Singapore Polytechnic days.. Ahhh.. The memories of being in SP.. Taught alot about myself and my friends..

I really miss being in Singapore Polytechnic. It's one of the schools that I guess really "take care" of their students. That's what i think anyway.. Abit optimistic huh?! Hehe.. But hey! We got new rock climbing walls and gears.. And prob the only poly that has a bowling alley and cheap pool games.. Hehe.. Love those times!!

Boring Weekend..

My weekend was spent boringly @ home with my parents because we had nothing else better to do and had nowhere else better to go...

My friends came over on Friday for a small get-together.. The 4 of us.. As always Ita is never around because her life is all about SIA right now.. Nonetheless, it was still comforting to know that the rest would be coming over. Mama came first where she watched the video that I had done for Hari Raya. There wasnt much but at least it was something. Kisha came next, and she also joined in the video viewing session. I guess one of the hilarious part abt the video is Annakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader.. OooOoo.. No prizes for guessing who it was!!

Ain came last after her work. By then, we had all eaten dinner and was about to endulge ourselves with Strawberry Chesscake ice-cream from Ben & Jerry's. Hahaha.. Thanks to Mama of course for the special delivery!! The girls then gawked @ my Australian mags, CLEO & COSMO.. Haha.. If onli Sani was to see their faces.. See im the only one who "wants" to read such parts of the mag. It is after all, very educational.

Before my girlfriends left, Ain decided to make some robot moves.. which the rest stupidly joined in.. Hahaha.. Thanks for coming over guys!! It was really, really sweet of you guys!!~

Singapore Zoo

A trip to the zoo should always be a memorable one. No matter what kind of company you have, no doubt the animals will always be there to give you a surprise and abit of knowledge.

I managed to convince my dearest friends that we MUST, MUST, MUST go to Singapore Zoo. Hehe.. Though they didnt need much convincing cause they were as eager to go as I am.. I knew it was gonna be a fun, long, hot day!! But with my mates.. time passes by with a blink of an eye!!

My belated Birthday Celebration...

It was to be a normal dinner get-together with my secondary school friends.. I didnt know that they were going to suprise me with a birthday celebration.. My 22nd Birthday..

So what if they were a couple of months overdue.. It was the thought that counts!!~ Love them to bits!!..

We ate @ Eatzi @ EastPoint, Simei. I didnt feel that good actually so I jus ordered something simple like a Seafood Pan.. I could barely finish my main course when they surprised me with a birthday cake!! Wow!! A third birthday cake for my 22nd Birthday?!?? I feel so spoilt!! Suddenly, the moment brought me back to Melbourne, during my birthday celebration.

I miss my flatmates..
I miss my neighbours...
I miss Melbourne..

I realise that I will never be able to come back to what I used to have. I would have to re-start with almost a new set of flatmates and totally new neighbours. My days of hanging out @ the 2-13 are over!! I would probably be torn between Noble Park & Panorma Street. Though I highly doubt that any of us would have time; what with me being President & RA @ the same time..

Life kicks me back into reality as I see 3 of my closest friends in front me. Im gonna miss them when I go back Melbourne. *sobs*

Mel's Graduation..

Mel had her graduation ceremony yesterday. She was suppose to be there by 5pm but of course, being Mel, it took her forever to get ready! She didnt allow me to go but after alot of pestering, irritating her and begging, she eventually said i could go. But no, i didnt go for the ceremony itself. I just wanted to take pic with her in her graduation gown.

Clayton Campus was packed with graduating students. I was overwhelmed by the fact that I could be one of them in 2008, insyaallah. I only have 6 more units to go, 2 semesters, 1 year, 2007. I can only pray to God that I survive 2007 and excel in everything that I do. Anyway, I realise that graduation time are quite expensive. You have to pay for the photo shoot, the certificate frame, of course you need to get the graduation bear. And flowers. I bought Mel flowers but as always, Mel being Mel she refusese to bring them. If only Mummy was here to force everything upon her. Please Mummy, do not kill me. I did my best!! Though I have to admit, Mel looked good in makeup that day. Hehe.

So CONGRATULATIONS Melissa Chow Tze Mei!! You've graduated!! And also, congratulations to everyone else who is graduating!! You guys deserve the special day!! After all, Monash did cost a BOMB!!~ =p

My Neighbours...

This past few days have really sad for me.. It's kinda stupid though.. I think some of you might even laugh at me.. But yeah, I feel sad that my neighbours, the 5 guys who have been a part of my life for almost a year now are leaving and moving out..

It's funny how I never think that i'll be friends with them.. Who would have thought kan?! Hehe.. Unbelievable.. Hahaha.. I guess SEF will never be the same again.. We wont be living in in the 2nd Floor.. and Neither would the guys.. Next year, me & Mel wont be able to go over to the guys place when we are bored and frustrated at our flat.. I guess we have to move on with our lives eventually.. Im gonna miss my 5 neighbours and im pretty sure Mel will too!!...

They've all moving out by tomorrow, well except Sani (He going on Friday).. It's gonna be one rollercoaster weekend!!~

Shirley & Kevin's Last Night In Melbourne 2006

It wasn't really their last night in Melbourne for 2006. Because they had to go and stay overnight at their aunt's place, I decided we should have one last dinner (@ La Porchetta) before they actually go off on Sunday. Haiz.. Im gonna miss Shirley.. Not so much Kevin lah.. Hahaha.. Just kidding!!

It's been a good year hanging with them!! Though we didnt live in the same flat, we still get to see each other alot.. Especially during functions and time hanging out.. I think it takes two to be in a relationship, no matter what kind of relationship it is.. If one of us have decided not to meet, then we probably wouldnt have such a close friendship.. aawww...
