Went to meet up with a few of my rock climbing frens just now.. Its been awhile since i hang out with them.. Hearing the stories & events of their lives have made me thought about how much i miss them & how much ive missed their lives.. Yes you can say that the feeling of guilt is sloooowly creeping into me right now.. So far, it seems loads of couples have broken up & have dated here n there, some exchanged partners.. well sort of lah!!.. These are but a few things that seems to be a trend among the rock climbers.. Im kinda sad to say that I was once part of them.. For them to turned out as one of the many Malay "mats" & "minahs" that Singapore have already have much to offer, isnt what i expected of them.. Also, it seems there is a competition between the girls of who loses weight faster & is now much more thinner than the rest.. I mean.. What the fuck?!~ C'mon man.. Seriously, im ashamed to say yes, this is our rock climbing community in Singapore.. & yes, it consists of quite a alot of Malays & no i am not like them minah Malays.. At least i dont think i am.. Hehe..

On another note, this morning I woke up reading the newspaper.. An event that i rarely do.. I usually get my news from the TV, like CNN or BBC.. So i was surprised to find myself amused reading the papers.. Apparently, God have told me to read them cause as i turned the page, i was in awe when i read the following news.. *please note i have taken snipets from the article*

"TWO CHARGED WITH ILLEGAL MUSIC UPLOADS"
"Two men arrested last year for allegedly distributing illegal digital music files on the Internet were charged in court yesterday - the first time home users here are facing the music for non-for-profit copyright offences." ...

"... had allegedly put up hundreds of songs, since 2002, on a popular local Internet chat relay channel for other users to download." ...

"... Following news of their arrest last year, illegal music downloads and uploads here fell dramatically..." ...

"Many Internet chatrooms offering illegal music downloads, including the one used by the duo, closed down. In addition, the number of warning messages sent by Rias to users they found downloading or uploading illegal music fell from 1,400 to under 100 a month." ...
- The Straits Times, Saturday, January 14th 2006

What actually caught my attention was the two people that have been charged. Of course they were Malays.. No surprises there!! But then i realise that they might just as well be one of my many Internet friends. WHY?! Cause I used to go to this popular Malay IRC channel that serves mp3. It could have been me in their position right now.. Even though i have long stopped serving esp since they changed the IT Act. The privacy & rights of a Singaporean to use the Internet is no longer ours. The Act have been "reconstructed" in a way that allows them to hack thru our own system in order to get whatever information they want to use against us. Yes this is how extreme they have become. In order to stop us, they use the most extreme methods of "punishment". If you know me well enough, you know how much of a political person i can be. It's in my blood people!! Hehe.. On another note, i just wanna say why is there such thing as piracy?! Because 3/4 of the world is not as rich as the other 1/4. Meaning, yes we wanna use the stuff yet but we dont have the money to purchase it. How ridiculous can a price of something be? Doesnt the rich get richer? And the poorer get pirated stuff?! It's not the other 3/4 of the world's fault that they own something pirated in their back closet. Seriously, which one of u have never bought something pirated? If you havent, most prob you are rich & loaded & is probably getting more money in the near future.. Thinking abt it, i dont have any friends that are THAT rich.. so what the hell are u reading this blog for?! Hmmm.. But seriously, how can you define piracy, say something that is ripped off from another company? I mean.. the other day me & my friends went to this shoe shop & saw really nice & totally comfy shoes. Each one of us took turns to try the shoe out, knowing in our hearts that none of us can afford the shoe. Then we head on to another shoe shop & saw the same exact design. And the next thing we know, each of us got one. Haha.. So yeah, isnt the design of the shoe ripped off from the other shop? Get what i mean? Isnt this the same as getting a non-good quality DVD as in pirated ones instead of getting the $39.90 ones? Once again, how do we define piracy?! *Pardon my political view people!!~*
